Quickly and easily capture and share your screen on a Mac.

Press Shift+Command+3

To capture your entire screen, press Shift+Command+3 all at the same time. The screenshot will automatically be saved to your desktop as a PNG file.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Make sure the screen you want to capture is visible on your Mac.
2. Press and hold the Shift, Command, and 3 keys simultaneously.
3. You will hear a shutter sound, indicating that the screenshot has been captured.
4. The screenshot will be saved as a PNG file on your desktop.
5. You can find the screenshot file by opening your desktop folder.

To use the Screenshot toolbar, follow these steps:

3. If you selected "Capture Entire Screen" or "Capture Window," the screenshot will be captured immediately and saved to your desktop.
4. If you selected "Capture Selected Portion," you can use your mouse to select the area of the screen you want to capture. Once you release the mouse button, the screenshot will be captured and saved to your desktop.
5. If you selected "Record Entire Screen" or "Record Selected Portion," a recording will start. Click the "Stop" button in the menu bar to stop the recording. The recording will be saved to your desktop as a MOV file.

Screenshots and screen recordings captured using Shift+Command+5 are saved in PNG format and MOV format respectively by default. You can change the default format by clicking on the "Options" button in the Screenshot toolbar. In the "Format" section, select the desired format from the drop-down menu.

Capture specific window

To capture a specific window, follow these steps:

1. Press Shift+Command+4 to open the screenshot capture tool.
